Come to our Annual Meeting.
Each year UDPREP members and guests gather to celebrate our conservation successes and elect UDPREP officers. This year’s annual meeting has been scheduled to coincide with our popular watershed bus tour (above). If you are unable to join us for the tour, you are still encouraged to attend the annual meeting.
The meeting will be held October 8 at Lincolnshire Village Hall, One Olde Half Day Road, Lincolnshire, IL 60069, 3:004:00 PM.
Our keynote speaker will be Donald Hey, Ph.D., president and co-founder of The Wetlands Initiative, Inc. He also is director of Wetlands Research, Inc., which manages the Des Plaines River Wetlands Demonstration Project near Wadsworth, Illinois, one of the nation’s first large-scale wetland restoration projects..

UDPREP Joins Chicago Wilderness
The Upper Des Plaines River Ecosystem Partnership is now a member of the Chicago Wilderness consortium, an alliance of more than 200 public and private organizations working together to protect, restore, study and manage the natural ecosystems of the Chicago region, to contribute to the conservation of global biodiversity and enrich local residents’ quality of life. Hands-On Rain Garden Workshop
UDPREP's hands-on rain garden installation workshop took place on Saturday, June 7, 2008. Eager volunteers helped us to plant a demonstration garden containing nearly 900 native plants and grasses. Experts explained how to design, install, and maintain a rain garden and answered the participants' questions.

Cook County Stormwater Ordinance
UDPREP now sits on the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago's Public and Private Organization Advisory Committee (PPOAC). The PPOAC is assisting the MWRD in developing a stormwater management ordinance for Cook County.
