Dominican University
West Parking Lot, 7900 W. Division St., River Forest, IL

The nearly 150,000 square foot West Parking Lot is made of permeable pavers. The pavers were installed to off-set additional stormwater runoff created by a building expansion effort.

Ryerson Woods Conservation Area Welcome Center
21950 N. Riverwoods Rd., Deerfield, IL

The Welcome Center parking lot is made of porous asphalt. The photo at right was taken on UDPREP's 2006 watershed tour. Participants watched as water from a hose soaked into the porous asphalt.

Prospect Heights Park District
Administration Building, 401 E. Camp McDonald Rd. Prospect Heights, IL

This approximately 15' x 50' permeable pavement area (pictured at left) expands the existing parking lot. Visit the site in mid-summer to see how the grass inside the paver spaces allows the parking area to blend in with the surrounding green space.

Marcus de la Fleur of the Conservation Design Forum has transformed his home into a virtual watershed friendly landscaping demonstration site. Hardscaping elements include porous pavement walkways and a gravel grass driveway.

The parking spaces on Compass Road just outside the Center (parallel to the building) are made of permeable pavers (pictured at left).
